The 2nd ACM/EIGSCC Symposium On Smart Cities and Communities

The fourth annual Global City Teams Challenge Tech Jam will be held in Portland Oregon between Tuesday, September 10th – Thursday September 12th, 2019. This event will bringing together forward-looking municipalities, research institutions, federal agencies, leading private sector companies, interested in preparing their infrastructure for the latest smart city technologies to provide better, more equitable services.
In collaboration with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Emerging Interest Group (EIG) on Smart Cities and Communities (SCC) we will be hosting a Technical Papers Symposium. This Symposium will provide a leading venue for the presentation of the highest-quality original research, groundbreaking ideas, and compelling insights on future trends in Smart City Technology and Deployment.

  • Economic Track: Public-private-academic partnerships (PPAPs): securing funding, deliver services and the business models to scale them
  • Data Track: Open Data and Identity Management: strategies for ensuring interoperability, privacy and security, including an Open Data and Data.gov retrospective and look ahead
  • Thriving Communities Track: promoting quality of life for all ages, sustainability and beneficial connections with nature, vibrant arts and cultural expression, and equitable access to the benefits of smart cities technologies for all groups
  • Regional Track: Regional testbeds for new urban-oriented technologies, expanding tele-health, tele-medicine and shared healthcare services models
  • Transportation Track: mobility, freight, ensuring accessibility and public safety
